Mixed blessings - vintage cups and saucers don't have to match (natch)

Inspired by a customer who was looking for an 'eclectic' approach to dining (how very Postmodern!), we were moved to try combining different patterns and styles to create truly unique tableware settings.

The amazing miscellany of cups and saucers in our collection also gave us some ideas. While it's lovely to have the coordinated duos or trios just as they came way back when (and we keep them together when we can), it's also fun to mix it up, with authentic vintage styles set against each other - sometimes clashing and sometimes striking a harmonious chord. Like the dinner settings, these can work out very cheaply, especially when they team generic but genuine mid-century cups with named-pattern saucers - starting as low as £7 per pair or £10 for a trio.

Here are some mixes we came up with, but if you want to try some different combinations we'll be more than happy to play, from the exotic zebra stripes of Midwinter's Zambesi, to Palissy's sleek Regatta sail boats; Ridgway's stylish Parisienne to the playful Poodles from Alfred Meakin.
   
Because they are drawn from what we happen to have available across our range, these 'non-sets' are as individual as your tastes and can be very cost-effective too!
